Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council have jointly launched a consultation on proposals to cut traffic congestion and improve public transport in Oxford.

In a letter to Vale of White Horse councillors CPRE Oxfordshire say that at the very least the Plan should not be adopted until after the Oxford Local Plan has been examined and the City's unmet need properly assessed.

CPRE Oxfordshire has called for a new regional transport strategy, launched on 16 July, to mark a step-change in the ‘business as usual’ approach and put the environment first.
