CPRE Oxfordshire has called on local District Councils to reject new housing figures after a report reveals they are over 2.5 times the Government's own projections.   

CPRE Oxfordshire is today (Thursday 15 May) launching a new campaign – Protect Rural Oxfordshire (PRO) – to challenge the Oxfordshire Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA), which suggests that 100,000 houses are needed in Oxfordshire by 2031, up from an earlier estimate of 54,700.

1,000 houses proposed at Alvescot Downs

An application for over 1,000 houses has been submitted at Alvescot Downs, Carterton. The site was rejected in the draft Local Plan but the Council's current lack of 5 Year Housing Supply could see it sneak through.
