Oxfordshire Growth Board 3 Year Housing Land Supply Consultation, deadline 12th July

Hulton Park

25th June 2018

The Oxfordshire Growth Board is hoping to negotiate a bespoke arrangement with Government on housing land supply rules.

Normally, local authorities must show a five Year deliverable supply of land for housing, but they want  to bring it down to three. Failure to prove an adequate supply can open the door to speculative development, but whilst this deal might avoid short-term pain, CPRE is concerned about the longer term consequences of backloading targets.   We think the priority should be to set realistic and achievable housing numbers.
