Oxfordshire County Council have decided against the controversial HiF1 road planned to connect the A34 at Milton Interchange, Didcot to the Golden Balls roundabout at Nuneham Courtenay.
This costly project would have had devastating consequences on countryside and rural communities, without solving any of the problems it was supposed to address. The scheme was heavily criticised by campaign groups representing the affected villages and those concerns have been recognised.
Planning alternative, sustainable, transport options which provide solutions to the areas traffic issues must now be a priority for our councillors.
