Powering Up for a Greener Future
13th November 2025
CPRE Oxfordshire have teamed up with local climate and nature action charity, Greener Henley, for a special Green Screen event at the Regal Picturehouse, Henley, on Wednesday 19 November, featuring the acclaimed new documentary Power Station — followed by a lively panel discussion on local renewable energy and community action.
Power Station follows artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn as they set out to transform their London street into a rooftop power station — pitching to neighbours, clambering onto rooftops, and even aiming for a Christmas No.1 single! It’s a funny, hopeful and inspiring reminder of how creativity and community can drive real change.
After the screening, a panel chaired by Rebecca Chandler-Wilde (Henley Town Council’s Climate & Nature Emergency Advisory Group) will explore how Henley and nearby towns can embrace rooftop renewables. She’ll be joined by Lisa Warne, Director, CPRE Oxfordshire, and Claudia Kalver, energy specialist and CANEAG member.
The event comes ahead of our Rooftop Renewables project, launching in Sonning Common in January 2026, which will help households and communities harness solar power — cutting emissions, reducing bills, and protecting the countryside.
“This event is a fantastic warm-up for our Rooftop Renewables campaign,” said Lisa Warne, Director of CPRE Oxfordshire. “Power Station shows how people can make a real difference by looking up — to their own rooftops — and taking practical action to power their communities.”
