West Oxfordshire District Council has commissioned a partial update of the 2014 SHMA as part of its Local Plan process. A public consultation will run until 26th August.

The Vale of White Horse is consulting on its Main Modifications to the Local Plan - the public consultation runs from 20 July to 14 September. The Vale is simultaneously consulting on its draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). 

OxLEP – Oxfordshire’s Local Enterprise Partnership – the unelected quango that is driving the economic growth in our county – is holding a public consultation on the ‘Refresh’ of the Strategic Economic Plan (SEP).

The County Council has submitted the Minerals and Waste Local Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination. If it is found sound, it could be adopted by November.

Cherwell District Council are holding public consultations on a raft of planning policy documents relating to the Local Plan, running from 29 January to 11 March.

In its response to the consultation on proposed changes to National Planning Policy, CPRE has called into question the effectiveness of the proposals, saying they are likely to make the planning system operate less efficiently, putting the countryside at increased risk.

The West Oxfordshire Local Plan Inspector Mr Simon Emerson has formally suspended the examination of the West Oxfordshire Local Plan 2031 until December 2016, to allow the Council to undertake consultation on ‘main modifications’ in order to make the plan 'sound'.

The Housing and Planning minister, Brandon Lewis MP announced this week that Didcot is to become Greater Didcot Garden Town. He said this will help with the delivery of infrastructure, 15,000 houses and 20,000 high-tech jobs.

Planning Inspector Mr Simon Emerson has been appointed to establish whether the West Oxon Local Plan is 'sound', taking into account the representations made earlier this year, as well as national policy.

Oxfordshire County Council is seeking to find a long-term strategy to tackle congestion on the A40 and is holding a public consultation to seek views on possible options.
