Woodstock under housing threat

Woodstock Action Group is asking for your support in objecting to a new housing development proposed for former playing fields.   

A plan for 58 new houses on the former Marlborough School playing fields off Shipton Road in Woodstock will cause serious traffic and safety problems, according to an independent consultancy.  Their analysis of the proposals suggest the problems will be caused in a part of the town that already suffers from congestion particularly at peak times, at the start and end of the school day.

The site is remote from the centre and will necessitate more car use. GP and other services will be put under strain. In addition, a valuable recreational space will be sacrificed if the planning application (13/0982/P/FP) is approved at a meeting of the West Oxfordshire District Council Uplands Planning Sub-Committee on 7th May.
