South Oxfordshire Local Plan - thank you for making your voice heard!

Monday, 21 August 2017 15:17

South Oxfordshire District received over 7,500 comments to the consultation on their emerging Local Plan - thank you for making your voice heard!

The consultation on South Oxfordshire's latest drarft of their emerging Local Plan closed on 17 May.

The Council received over 7,500 comments from around 1,300 individuals and organisations. The comments are now available to view on the Council's consultation website.

The majority of comments relate to the proposed development locations at Chalgrove, Culham, Wheatley and Berinsfield. The Council also received comments on roads and public transport, on the potential to make changes to the Green Belt, and about protecting Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Council is currently reviewing the plan in light of the comments received and will make changes, where appropriate, to the next version of the plan.

See: CPRE's response to the consultation.

What happens next?

In October this year, the public will have a final opportunity to comment on the version of the plan that the Council intends to submit for examination. This consultation is different from the previous three, since it will ask specific questions relating to the legality of the plan.

You must respond to this consultation if you want the examiner to consider your views, even if you have previously commented.

Once the consultation deadline has passed, the Council will send all of the comments along with the Local Plan and evidence studies to the Planning Inspectorate.

Keep an eye out for more information about the October consultation on the Council website.
