West Oxfordshire consults on new Housing Needs Evidence as part of Local Plan process - have your say

Friday, 12 August 2016 10:35

West Oxfordshire District Council has commissioned a partial update of the 2014 SHMA as part of its Local Plan process. A public consultation will run until 26th August.

The West Oxfordshire Local Plan examination was suspended earlier in the year to allow for additional work on housing numbers and sites to be carried out.

As part of this process the Council has commissioned independent consultants Peter Brett Associates to prepare new evidence on housing need in the form of a partial update of the Oxfordshire Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA), published in 2014.

The Housing Needs Evidence report is available to view on the West Oxon Local Plan website

Have your say

The council is inviting views on the report until 5pm Friday 26th August 2016.

What next?

The report and any comments received will be used to help inform the Council’s decision on its proposed housing requirement.

Apparently, no decision has been made by the Council on its proposed housing requirement.

The Peter Brett report is simply a piece of technical evidence that will be taken into account, together with any responses received before a final decision on the housing requirement is reached.

CPRE will be responding to the consultation.
