Consultation on Main Modifications to Vale Local Plan - have your say

Thursday, 21 July 2016 12:26

The Vale of White Horse is consulting on its Main Modifications to the Local Plan - the public consultation runs from 20 July to 14 September. The Vale is simultaneously consulting on its draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).

The Vale Local Plan Inspector recently published his main Interim Findings on the Local Plan 2031 Part 1. The Inspector indicated that, subject to “main modifications”, the plan is likely to be found sound.

The Council has now published its Schedule of Main Modifications to the Local Plan and is holding a public consultation.

CPRE Oxfordshire will be examining the document carefully and submitted a response in due course.

Consultation on Main Modifications to Local Plan:

The Inspector is inviting comments on the proposed Main Modifications as part of the Examination process for the Local Plan 2031 Part 1. The Main Modifications have been identified by the Inspector as those necessary to make the Spatail Strategy and Strategic Policies contained within the Local Plan sound. The Inspector will consider all representations submitted to the Schedule of Main Modifications consultation before publishing his final report, which is expected later this year.

The Sustainability Appraisal Statement and Habitats Regulations Assessment Addendum that accompany the Main Modifications are also available to view and comment on.

The public consultation on the Main Modifications runs from Wednesday 20 July to Wednesday 14 September.

Consultation on draft Statement of Community Involvement:

The Vale is simultaneously consulting on its Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).

The Council want to know what you think of the draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) - this sets out how the Council will engage with communities and the ways people can comment on planning applications.

Once it’s adopted the Council has a duty to comply with the new SCI in preparing any plan making document, or determining a planning application. The updated SCI will replace the current version that was published in 2009.
