Port Meadow Mitigation Plans

Oxford University has submitted a planning application for mitigation of its controversial Castle Mill accommodation blocks at Port Meadow - Have Your Say by 15 March.

Government is backing a report by the National Infrastructure Commission that recommends the creation of a 'silicon beltway' between Oxford and Cambridge, including a new expressway and a significant increase in housing along the route.  But what problem is this trying to fix, what problems will it cause and is a new road an old (& wrong?) solution?

Today - 19 August - is the final day to have your say on South Oxfordshire District Council's preferred options for development through to 2032. CPRE's response argues for lower figures and higher density, which would remove the need for a new settlement...

As Oxford City Council gets to work on its development plan through to 2036, it's asking for your initial views on issues such as housing, jobs and green space.  We think its a good chance to speak up for sustainable development, rather than just 'growth'! Consultation closes 12 August.

Osney Mead site must focus on housing

CPRE believes this central Oxford brownfield site must prioritise housing over more job creation.

Consultation extended until 29 July.

South Oxfordshire District Council has launched a consultation on its development choices to 2026, including a 3,500+ new settlement at Chalgrove Airfield, a 10% increase in the size of larger villages and a 5% increase for smaller villages. Consultation runs until 19 August.
