Strategic thinker? WANTED: Branch Chairman

Wednesday, 28 September 2016 10:39

Interested in environmental issues?  Care about your countryside?  Want to make a difference?

CPRE Oxfordshire Branch Chairman

(Voluntary Role)

CPRE Oxfordshire is seeking a new Branch Chairman, to replace our retiring Chairman, Brian Wood, who has completed five years in the role.

The English Countryside is under unprecedented threat from development. The Oxfordshire Campaign to Protect Rural England exists to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural Oxfordshire.

We are an independent local charity, although we have strong links to our national office. Our main activity involves working to influence local planning policy, monitoring planning proposals and making informed comments when developments threaten the character, wildlife or sustainability of our countryside. The branch publishes a newsletter, runs a programme of events, and advises members and the public on countryside issues.

As chairman of CPRE Oxfordshire you will provide vision and leadership to ensure a strong and effective voice for the future of the countryside. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your senior level skills and experience. With your help we can do even more to protect the countryside and increase our influence on key decisions affecting land use in the county.
