Northern Gateway emerging proposals

Despite concerns over traffic congestion, air pollution and threats to the Green Belt, the Northern Gateway area of Oxford has been allocated for development.   Developers are now consulting on their initial proposals.

The Northern Gateway Consortium consists of two companies, Thomas White Oxford Ltd and Pear Tree Oxford Ltd, both wholly owned by St John's College, Oxford.

The Consortium recently held a public exhibition of their emerging plans for the area. These are based on the 90,000m2 employment area and 500 houses outlined in the Northern Gateway Area Action Plan which was adopted by Oxford City Council last year.

If you didn't manage to attend the exhibition, you can still view and comment on their proposals via the website:

A second public exhibition is due to take place later this year, with more refined proposals, prior to the submission of an outline planning application.
