Exhibition - Celebrating 50 years of Alun Jones' drawings

Wednesday, 09 December 2015 12:21

Take this unique opportunity to see some of Oxford-based cartographer Alun Jones' wonderful hand-drawn maps of the Oxfordshire countryside.

Alun Jones has hand-drawn some 90 maps of Oxfordshire and its countryside over the past 50 years, mostly on behalf of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).

A selection of these will be on show from

Monday 30th November 2015 to Friday 26th February 2015

in an exhibition on the

Ground Floor Main Meeting Room Corridor at County Hall, Oxford.

The exhibition will include some of Alun’s maps of Oxfordshire towns and villages, historic houses and their gardens, and routes of long-distance walks and sponsored walks.  Together they provide a fascinating overview and valuable record of Oxfordshire's communities and landscapes.

County Hall is open Monday - Thursday 08.00 till 17.00 and Friday 08.00 till 16.00.

CPRE Oxfordshire has been honoured to be the beneficiary of so much of Alun Jones' work over the years and is delighted that this exhibition will help bring it to the attention of the wider public.
