CPRE Members' Visit to Ditchley Park, Enstone, 2.15pm.


This important house by James Gibbs with interiors by William Kent is now owned by the Ditchley Foundation and is not open to the general public. The visit will include a guided tour of the state rooms of the house (starting at 2.15), access to the gardens and extensive park, and tea and biscuits. There is disabled access to the house.

CPRE Members' walk of Wallingford and visit to Wallingford Museum, 2.30pm.


Currently in the spotlight as the setting for Midsomer Murders, Wallingford is an attractive and historic Thameside town. This walk (starting at 2.30) will be led by a local historian and last about an hour, followed by a visit to the town museum. Cost £7.00 (£5.00 for walk only). Number limited to 20.

CPRE Members' Guided visits to Boarstall Tower and Boarstall Duck Decoy, 3.00pm.


This afternoon combines visits to two very different National Trust properties in the same Otmoor village. The tower is a 14thc moated gatehouse, and the working duck decoy has a lakeside setting and is part of a nature reserve. There is disabled access. Cost for the two visits £5.20 ( £2.00 for NT members).


For those who would like to make a day of it, we suggest a walk up to the neighbouring hill village of Brill ( windmill) for a pub lunch before returning down to Boarstall for the visit to the tower. Meet at the Boarstall Tower car park at 12.00 noon.

CPRE Members' Visit to Watchfield wind farm near Shrivenham, 11.00 am.


The siting of wind turbines in the countryside is an issue of major concern to CPRE. This visit will enable you to see a windfarm and its impact at close quarters and learn more about its efficiency and contribution to CO2 reduction.
