Summertown and Marston: proposals for housing development

Summertown and Marston Other developments in Marston

Map based on the SHLAA.

  • Summertown safeguarded land. 17 hectares owned by Summerfields School, Wadham College and St Johns College. Includes 5.4 hectares of public open space (playing fields), which the City Council says could be moved to the adjacent Cherwell floodplain, and 2.2 hectares of floodplain. The SHLAA suggests that 540 dwellings could be built on the site. Development of this site will lead to loss of important open space and is unacceptable.
  • Marston, Mill Lane. 16 hectares of which 3.26 hectares is in the floodplain and 2.76 hectares of this is a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation (SLINC). 600 dwellings.
  • Other housing developments planned in Marston
