South Oxfordshire District Council is currently consulting on the Preferred Options for its Local Plan 2032.  CPRE believes that, where appropriate, higher density development could reduce the greenfield land needed and encourage the right type of housing.  Have you say by 19 August.

South Oxfordshire District Council has launched a consultation on its development choices to 2026, including a 3,500+ new settlement at Chalgrove Airfield, a 10% increase in the size of larger villages and a 5% increase for smaller villages. Consultation runs until 19 August.

The Housing and Planning minister, Brandon Lewis MP announced this week that Didcot is to become Greater Didcot Garden Town. He said this will help with the delivery of infrastructure, 15,000 houses and 20,000 high-tech jobs.

Devastating South Oxon Green Belt Study

South Oxfordshire District Council has today published a study of the Green Belt in its area. In contravention of government guidance and local wishes, the Study proposes changes to sites across the District, including sacrifice of land at Grenoble Road, Horspath, Wick Farm and Wheatley.

Can you breathe?

South Oxfordshire is consulting on plans to improve air quality acrosss the District, especially in Henley, Wallingford and Watlington where pollution has reached levels identified by the government as potentially harmful to health.
